WHY SHOULD YOU BUY DIAMONDS IN
THAILAND ?
As you probably know, most diamonds are found in various African
countries, usually in mines. It seems like the best place to go
for diamonds would be Africa, right?
Well, no.
First of all, most South African diamonds are shipped as raw ore
to Europe and assorted there before being put on the market, so
it’s not possible for tourists to buy diamonds at retail value
directly from the minds. Diamonds you buy there have been
shipped out and back at least once.
Second, while diamonds are available in other African countries,
conditions there are usually not very comfortable for the
average tourist. Political problems, lack of local
infrastructure, and dishonest trading are constant risks in most
African deals. You should be a highly experienced expert if you
want to work in those markets.
